Taking Vitamin C to prevent cold/flu?

Vitamin C is undoubtedly the most well-known among all vitamins. Ladies use it to synthesize collagen; kids use it to boost immune system; athletes use it to relieve bone and joint pains.

Lets first get to know to major functions of Vitamin C:
🍊 acts as body's main antioxidant
🍊 protects the immune system
🍊 helps build collagen for connective tissues
🍊 heals wounds
🍊 helps body to absorb iron and calcium
🍊 maintain blood vessels, bones, teeth, and the formation of brain hormones
🍊 to fight cancer and heart disease

Sources??
🍊 citrus fruits (eg: lemon, orange, pomelo, grapefruit)
🍊 leafy green vegetables (eg: kale, watercress, spinach)
🍊 kiwi
🍊 peppers
🍊 broccoli
🍊 strawberry
🍊 guava
🍊 tomato
🍊 etc...

Deficiency??
🍊 scurvy
(symptoms: spots on legs, sore & bleeding gums, tooth loss, wounds that reopen)

I've seen many people practice taking Vitamin C supplements to prevent or to treat cold/flu, including myself.
But what if you finally get to know that by taking Vitamin C actually brings little to no benefit to prevent or treat cold/flu?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

While a few studies suggest that a high dose of Vitamin C at the beginning of a cold/flu may shorten the symptoms by about 8%, a definitive analysis of 29 well-designed studies involving more than 11,700 individuals concluded that Vitamin C supplements have no power to prevent or treat cold/flu.

Conclusion: It is still best to get plenty of Vitamin C from your daily diet to boost your immune system!

City Garden Veggie Cafe @ Kepong

City Garden Veggie Cafe located in Taman Usahawan, Kepong (shop lots opposite AEON Kepong). They serve a wide variety of menu selection, including local and western delicacies, snacks, and even steamboat set. This is not the first time I dine in City Garden Veggie Cafe. I would drop by here to have lunch/dinner almost all the time when I go to Kepong. I personally think this is one of the best (in term of foods and environment) and affordable vegetarian cafe in Kepong. Their specialty is the '2 TASTE IN A BOWL'. In case you're having dilemma on whether to order curry noodle or tomyam noodle, opt for this so you could have both together😍 Their western burgers are also worth recommending, each of them were distinctive and you'll wish to order all of themπŸ‘ Soup Noodles with Dried Noodles (RM10.90) Both of them taste just okay, nothing outstandingπŸ˜… Among all 2 TASTE IN A BOWL, I would rather recommend the 'Curry Noodles...

Yishensu @ One Utama

Sorry for neglecting the blog for some time as I was super busy on my full time job during the past few weeks due to year end holiday😌😌😌 And I finally get a short escape from my busy schedule to celebrate New Year Eve with my family in One Utama, so we'd dine in my favorite vegetarian restaurant in One Utama - YishensuπŸ˜‹ Yishensu was originated from a restaurant named as  Yishen Vegetarian Restaurant which started since 1987 in Perak. Today they have expanded into 4 branches - One Utama, BBT One Boulevard, Klang, Ipoh and Perak. We've ordered 3 dishes + brown rice  + 1 chinese tea set as our lunch. Mixed Vegetable Curry (RM23.30) Their curry is always known to be good, one of my favorite food in Yishensu was their Curry noodle but I didn't order it since my parents prefer to have rich with dishes. The curry was rich in taste and never stingy in the materials, worth recommendingπŸ‘ Anyway, it would be even better if the cauliflowers can be ...
